![]() ![]() On a cool Sunday evening, Karl asked her out, but Lynn rejected him. Lynn was initially jealous at first, but she understood that appointing a psyker to the role of Librarian would have terrible consequences for the Imperium. His predecessor, Steward Elanor, took notice of the young man and appointed him as her Librarian - a highly-prestigious position given only to those with remarkable gifts. Karl was gifted with the photographic memory, so he was able to record every single detail precisely without any fault. His time in the Imperial Library was incredibly short. The agents complied and soon Karl would meet Lynn Asifah, an incredibly gifted psyker, and the two developed a fast friendship with one another. When he was given the offer, he refused, asking instead to become a remembrancer for the Imperial Library. During his tenure in university, he attracted a number of Imperial agents who saw him as a potential candidate for the Inquisitor program. When he was eighteen, he left his level to the upper levels to complete his education. As the eldest sibling, he was given the most care from his parents and he received the best education his parents could afford. Your opponents must be cheating, a dp has no re-rollable save, nor a 3+ ward (best is 5+ that re-rolls 1's), I cant see any s3 infantry, nor even s4 take out Karl Franz.Īs for a dp's weaknesses that is in the meta that wont hurt Karl Franz, well there's the light council, death Magic, the entire bolt thrower spam from the elves, war machines overall is more dangerous due to worse ward & only 4 wounds compared to Karl Franz 9.Albus Karl Franz grew up in a cramped household located deep beneath Terra’s towering landscapes on level 1331. His weakness is that hes not tailored to be unkillable vs 1000000000000000000000000000000 s3 attacks, unlike the daemon prince with -1 to hit, 2+ rerollable AS, 3+ ward save. His best strength is that nothing you usually would kill him with would work, monsters and big characters would get wrecked vs him. KFA doesnt get to be a lvl 4 wizard, he can fly but hes on a much bigger base so its harder to land somewhere, he doesnt get marks of chaos like nurgle to make him impossible to hit, he cant take a charmed shield or get an all-the-time 3++ ward save, and yes again you can take 2 daemon princes for his cost. I guess I should be happy that two out of my five armies already got their auto-win card. At least until they get their 9th edition update. The other huge downside is that unless they are going to produce a LOT more end times books than rumours currently suggest a lot of factions are going to be left out of the 'overpowered character' party and basically end being completely non-viable in a meta that is ruled by that kind of unit. I'm kind of sensing a return to the unfortunate days of post 5th when most gamers refused to play against any special characters at all unless you had consulted them first. Basically characters like Nagash, Glottkin and KF Ascended should be 'by appointment only', not something you spring on an unprepared opponent. I suspect the quick and easy answer will be to simply ban them from normal games, like how a lot of 40k groups are dealing with the Superheavies that 7th edition has allowed in. I don't think its a particularly positive development, but the horse has already bolted and its up to gaming communities to decide how they are going to deal with the new warhammer 'Lords of War'. Remember, Warhammer isn't all about killing tons of points: its often just as much about preventing your opponent's killy unit from doing that to you. Or he can go into 800+ points of infantry that people take in the form of Temple Guard/White Lions/Gutstars/Insert expensive elite infantry unit of choice and more than justify his investment. He can fight 400 points of infantry turns 2-5 and still ramapage turns 5-6. ![]() I'd argue that spending 800 points on KF is better than 800 points on two units of Demis, so the rest of the army isn't really losing out).Įqually, I'm also not saying that he should fight 400 points of infantry all game, more that doing so isn't the barrier that you're claiming it to be. ![]() I'm not saying that you should take a level 4 as well but pointing out that you can (and if not having one is such the deficiency that you're claiming it is, then surely you'd want to, so bringing KF isn't much of a downside other than the points you spend on him. Honestly, if he spends 3 turns killing a 400 point infantry block then you've lost the game. He auto wounds and allows no armour save - that sounds bad but compared against S6, that is just 16% more wounds. So you think spending 1000 points on KFA and a level 3 in 2k game is a good idea? After 500 points of core, the rest of the army is basically dead meat. ![]()
